Cool kids Cooking

Banana bread


Prep time: about 90 minutes

Ingredients:

2 eggs
1 3/4 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. vegetable oil
2/3 c. sugar
1 c. mashed bananas (about 3 bananas)
Utensils:
oven (You'll need help from your adult assistant.)
measuring cups and spoons
mixer
sifter
spatula
small bowl
medium-size bowl
large bowl
bread pan coated with nonstick spray
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius).
Beat eggs well in a small bowl.
In a medium-size bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a large bowl, add the vegetable oil. Add the sugar a little bit at a time, and continue beating until the mixture is fluffy.
Add the eggs to the mixture in the large bowl and beat well.
Add some of the flour mixture to the large bowl and beat well. Then add some of the mashed bananas and beat some more. Continue adding flour, then bananas, then flour, then bananas, until everything is mixed in.
Pour mixture into the baking pan. Bake for 70 minutes.
Flip your banana bread out of the pan, let it cool for a bit, and cut it into slices to eat and share!

Macaroni and cheese


Prep time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
6 c. water1 (7.25 oz.) package of macaroni and cheese dinner1/4 c. butter1/4 c. heavy whipping cream2 tbsp. skim milk powder1/2 c. cheddar cheese, shredded
Utensils:
stove (You'll need help from your adult assistant.)
medium pan
measuring cups
spatula
Directions:
1. Boil the water in a medium pan.2. Stir in the macaroni.3. Boil for 7 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.4. Drain the macaroni and return it to the pan.5. Add butter, whipping cream, skim milk powder, cheese, and cheese sauce mix (from the macaroni and cheese dinner package).6. Reduce heat to low and mix well until the cheese has melted.
Serves: 3

Nutty Chocolate chip Cookies


Prep time: 45 minutes

Ingredients:
2/3 c. light margarine, softened
2/3 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
2/3 c. sucralose
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 c. pecans, choppedUtensils:

oven (You'll need help from your adult assistant.)
baking sheet
measuring cup
measuring spoons
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (176 degrees Celsius).
Cream butter, brown sugar, sucralose, and vanilla extract together in a mixing bowl.
Add eggs to above mixture one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Add flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix well until blended.
Stir in chocolate chips and pecans.
Place level tablespoon size of cookie dough on a greased baking sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit (176 degrees Celsius) for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from oven and cool on wire cooling rack.
Serves: 36
